sfBIG'ers,
What a great evening! Over 250 people gathered at The City Club for our first annual BIG Star Awards last week. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners! The remarkable talent in our market astounds me. BIG thanks goes out to the evening's sponsor AOL, and to our keynote Rich LeFurgy, who introduced us to "MEMedia." A heroic congratulations goes out to Dianne Hayashi, Adam Smith and David Greenwald for making this event happen. The night really captured a special moment in time and I'm personally humbled at the award I received. Thank you.
We're at the halfway mark in the year. Take a breath, hydrate, and brace yourself because the assault of sfBIG activities doesn't slow down. Lil'BIG Casino Night, Madison Avenue-style takes place in less than 2 weeks. And YuMe-sponsored Battle of the Bands competition lands on August 4th on a wicked note. Finally, sfBIG will be hosting a commerce retail event in September. More details to come. Take note - we are revving for a big quarter to remember!
This organization would not be possible without the support of others that make up our community. That includes you. If you'd like to participate in any of our initiatives, I invite you the opportunity to lend a hand. If there are areas of interest you are passionate about, drop me a note at durham@catalystsf.com. We are in need of people to work on our upcoming partnership with The ADDY® Awards, our political action committee (PAC), next year's sponsorship sales, and general events.
I want to take a moment to recognize our sponsors who are so important to us. Their support allows us to put together all of our great events. To Akamai, AOL, AT&T, DBG, dmg world media, IAC, iMedia, Yahoo, YuMe, and all sponsors to come, thank you for your support.
Additionally, our communication efforts wish to keep you updated in all that is happening at sfBIG. Please be sure to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, and help us spread the word. We love reading your comments and posts.
Cheers and here's to a wonderful and glorious July 4th!
