SFUSD Academies Showcase
Great Opportunity to Help Local Schools
The San Francisco Unified School District Department of College and Career Readiness helps high school students make the connection between their high school education, college education and relevant careers. They offer career based "Academies" in five different fields by offering elective courses related to those careers.
Six high schools offer an Academy of Technology and Digital Media. Students learn valuable skills and gain insight into the technology and digital media industries so important to the Bay Area economy. Business leaders can volunteer via the Advisory Board to provide opportunities such as job shadows, field trips, class speakers and summer internships.
On Dec 6th, the Westin St. Francis Hotel will be hosting an event for all the SFUSD Academies. Teachers and students will be showcasing their programs, accomplishments and goals for the coming year. Superintendent Richard Carranza will be the guest speaker at the event. This is a great way for interested employers, community members and industry partners to learn more about the academies/ pathways taking place and about how they can become involved to help local schools.
