sfBIG Hal Riney Dinner
******* Thank you for your interest, but the event has SOLD OUT!!! ********
The San Francisco Bay Area continues to be the world's epicenter for technology and innovation. Nowhere is that more true than in marketing. New digital technologies along with social and mobile platforms are changing consumer behavior at an unprecedented rate. Bay Area thought leaders and entrepreneurs are literally changing marketing around us. All of these new success stories benefit from the heritage of innovative people and companies that have created the foundation for our industry here in SF today.
Five years ago, SF BIG introduced the Hal Riney Icons of Marketing Award to recognize the amazing, talented people who have helped contribute to and create this legacy of innovation that we are able to benefit from in our industry today. We named the event in recognition of the late Hal Riney, who's agency was really the first to put San Francisco creativity and innovation on the map for marketers across the country.
To date, we have had the opportunity to celebrate and recognize amazing leaders from across our industry. In our first year, we recognized Jeff Goodby, founder of Goodby Silverstein who shared his experiences working for his mentor Hal. Other recipients have included; Louis Rossetta and Jane Metcalf, founders of Wired Magazine, Deborah Contrad, CMO of Intel and John Battelle, Author, organizer of Web 2.0 and founder of Federated Media.
With this being the 5th Anniversary of the event, we are extremely pleased to be able to recognize a very special and deserving recipient – Tom Bedecarre, Chairman of AKQA and President of WPP Ventures. AKQA is one of the worlds leading and most awarded agencies of the digital era. Tom has lead the agency from it's San Francisco base to global expansion, awards and client wins, and recently to an acquisition by WPP Group. Tom is one of the most recognized and influential people in advertising and has been named "Silicon Valley's favorite Ad Man" by Fortune Magazine and Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young.
Most appropriately, while Tom got his start in advertising on Madison Avenue, his move to San Francisco in 1984 was for an opportunity to work at Hal Riney & Partners. We look forward to having you join us for this special, 5th Anniversary of the Icons Award Dinner where we will hear from Tom about his experience and success at AKQA as well as with Bay Area innovators.
Please join us on Thursday, November 14, 2013 to recognize Tom and the legacy of achievement that he has contributed through AKQA.
