Nominee:

Robert Ferguson –  catalyst s+f

Robert_Ferguson.jpg

Brief Entry:

I am pleased to nominate Robert Ferguson, Vice President at Catalyst S+F, as Account Big Star of the Year. As the CEO/Managing Partner of Catalyst S+F, it has been my distinct pleasure to not only manage but also work alongside Robert since we hired him at the beginning of 2014. If this was a movie review? Two thumps up. A restaurant review? Three Michellin stars. A Wine review? 99 pts by Robert Parker. You get the idea.

Robert has rapidly proved invaluable to our brand and marketing strategy work and the clients he has serviced. He is a dependable team player and leader who is adept at quickly entering a project and grasping the dynamics and complexities of the client’s marketing challenges. He is quick to grasp the big picture, something which is very important when working with so many different clients and various industries.

Client quote

“I have been working with Robert on a new start up company since August 2014. He has provided incredible insight into branding ideas as well as marketing strategies. His genuine concern for the success of our product has been shown in so many ways. It is very obvious that he spends time in thought about our company even when he's not "on the clock". He is fun to work with and encourages outside of the box thinking with all members of the team. I'm happy to have met Robert and very grateful for the opportunity to have had his influence while on this start-up journey!”

His work has already left a lasting impact on our firm and Robert has earned the rank of one of our top outstanding employees. We were thrilled with his performance. Robert is a dedicated, professional, intense, caring and respectful. He defines customer service the 21st Century way. His clients love him, the other members of our team look up to him and I envy him because he represents the best and the brightest of why this business is GOOD.

Min graduated from UC Berkely in 2012 with a 3.5 GPA, and worked in the accounting industry before moving into digital media in 2013.  Since starting at iCrossing, Min has improved every account he has worked on. Min also leads the consumer SEM team for a large tech client, overseeing two team members and managing a program that spans 24 countries and 9 languages.  After taking over the account in 2015, he led a global restructure of the SEM campaigns, followed by an in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for growth.  The results were astounding; in Q4, the SEM program generated a 60% increase in revenue and a 23% increase in ROI.

David Wekselbaum started at Just Media as an Analytics Specialist in November 2014. This role is responsible for trafficking, reporting and analyzing campaign data. His SEM background certainly helped him tackle the very steep learning curve, but his passion for advertising and his willingness to go the extra mile have undoubtedly contributed to his speedy success here at Just Media. David was instrumental during the time we expanded into Austin and opened a new office. He is extremely approachable, always willing to help with team members with a smile on his face. Nominee:

Valerie Nerio - HUB

Valerie_Nerio.jpg

Brief Entry:

Although Valerie has been in the biz for less than three years, you’d never know it. From the second she walked through the Hub doors she was kicking ass and taking names.   Valerie likes to tell a story about when she was in middle school and given a project to practice presentation skills. The topic was supposed to be one of her favorite things. Most of the kids presentations were about Teletubbies or playing dodgeball but not Valerie. At the ripe old age of 14, Valerie’s favorite thing was Advertising and to her classmates dismay, she gave a presentation about it. She’s truly living her childhood dream and we can’t imagine it any other way.

Whether it's ensuring every single last detail for a Client presentation is dialed or talking a Client through the details of a project and the right path forward, Valerie is always on the ball and making many of us senior folks at the office feel a bit rusty.   Our Clients love her bubbly personality, she calmness under pressure and the way she can work her magic to make any tight timeline work.   She’ll be OUR boss one day. We’re sure of it.

Nominee:

Anna Chu – Just Media

Anna_Chu.jpg

Brief Entry:

Originally joining Just Media as an Analytics Specialist, Anna has always been the type of person to find work rather than allow it to come to her. Seeking to alleviate a busy Social Media team, Anna took on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter campaigns, in addition to her regular Analytics duties for our largest spending client, SolarWinds. This versatility highlighted Anna’s value and she quickly took on a larger Social Media role…but she didn’t stop at Social!  As Just Media grew, so too did Anna’s role; when one of her Social clients asked to do Paid Search, she jumped at the opportunity.  At this point, Anna was simultaneously working with the Analytics Team, the Programmatic Team, the Social Media Team, and the Search Engine Marketing Team, and delivering results to each. Anna was not only able to quickly master multi-channel marketing, but also help her clients to surpass their lead volume goals ahead of schedule.  Today’s complex media landscape breeds the need for specialization, but Anna has proven herself to be a master of many trades. One of the only employees at Just Media to have run successful campaigns across all departments, Anna is an invaluable asset to any multi-channel marketing program.

Nominee:

Anya Rubin-McQuinn – Just Media

Anya_Rubin-McQuinn.jpg

Brief Entry:

Anya joined the Just Media team in the summer of 2015 as a Media Account Associate. We immediately saw the value Anya brought to the team with her help in launching one of the largest global brand campaigns of the year with Nutanix. This campaign thrust Anya into the middle of an initiative that included both digital and print components. Along with handling many of the administrative portions associated with the project, Anya immediately showed off her ability to multi-task as well as transition from one aspect of the job to another. From handling invoice tasks to approving creative proofs, Anya handled it all with efficiency and a smile on her face.    Coming from a PR background Anya had nearly zero agency experience. Less than a year later, she can add third party ad serving reporting/tracking, account management, and media planning/buying and execution all as skills she has mastered.   Anya has been entrusted to be the main Just Media contact for Surfwatch Labs handling all aspects of the campaign and even scaling the scope to now include social advertising. In a very short time, Anya has gained the trust and admiration of her clients, co-workers and vendor partners and is without a doubt – an agency rising star.
